The Office of the Inspector General of the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav submits to the Board its annual report for the year ended 31 December 2013. The report provides an oversight perspective regarding »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav¡¯s governance, risk management and control, and an overview of the activities of the Office of the Inspector General, including the Office of Internal Audit and the Office of Inspections and Investigations. The Board takes note of ¡°Annual Report of the Inspector General¡± (»Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav/EB.A/2014/6-F/1) and notes that the oversight work performed and reported did not disclose any significant weaknesses in the internal control, governance or risk management processes in place across »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav that would have a pervasive effect on the achievement of »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav¡¯s objectives. The Board encourages management to take advantage of the opportunities for further improvement highlighted in the report. The oversight work performed and reported for 2013 did not disclose any significant weaknesses in the internal control, governance and risk management processes in place across »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav that would have a pervasive effect on the achievement of »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav¡¯s objectives. However, some internal control, governance and risk management practices noted in individual audit engagements need improvement.

In accordance with Article VI (2) (b) (viii) of the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav General Regulations, this annual report of the Inspector General covering January to December 2012 is presented to the Board for consideration. It gives an oversight perspective on governance, risk management and control in the »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav and an overview of the work undertaken by the Oversight Office.

CORRIGENDUM: In paragraph 18, ¡°as a member of the Executive Management Group¡± should be replaced by ¡°as an Executive Management Group observer¡±. In Table 4, the date report provided for »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËav Operations in South Sudan should be ¡°Pending¡±.
